Definition: SCLER*RO*DER*MA/noun
Generally classified as a rare autoimmune rheumatic disease, scleroderma has no known cause or cure. It affects the skin, blood vessels, joints, tissue, and muscles of the body by causing hardness and tightness. In some, scleroderma only affects the skin. However in many patients it can affect ALL major organs in the body i.e., heart, lungs, kidneys, esophagus, stomach, colon and liver. Scleroderma is a chronic, progressive disease and in its worst form can be FATAL!
Although we cannot take this disease from the patient. We at S.H.O.U.T. can assist with the financial burden for patients and their families, who meet the qualification.
